What you get to do every day:

Handle fashion items from the 1600s to today

Evaluate the quality, materials, construction, and labels

Determine the era in which each item was made 

Valuate each item based on rarity, quality, and desirability

Help online customers with questions and their purchases

Ship beautiful treasures to their new homes

 

Location:

This position will be on-site in Clyde, NC.

This job cannot be done remotely as it requires daily handling of on-site items and management of staff.

 

 

What You Bring To The Role

 

Minimum Requirements

• Passionate about fashion, fashion history, and fashion preservation

• Can quickly determine era and textile content on sight and/or when handling items.

• Strong fashion and fashion history knowledge – 20th and 21st century designers, brands, trends, fabrics, garment construction, styles, etc.

• An excellent understanding of garment construction and how to style different garment types on mannequins or forms accurately

• Ability to measure garments and understand fit and sizing based on measurements and style

• Ability to describe garments with great accuracy

• Ability to valuate fashion items quickly and accurately

• 2-5 years working in a vintage fashion or fashion history role

• Specific abilities required by this job include: English language proficiency (both written and oral), Proficiency with Mac OS and Google Suite, proficient in computer technology (ie typing speed and keyboard shortcuts), must be able to use computer systems and technology efficiently

 

Qualifications

• Excellent leadership skills with 2-5 years management experience, ability to lead by example

• Excellent communication skills, open, clear, & concise with customers, peers, and leadership

• Exceptional attention to detail and organization skills, disciplined, can follow set processes accurately

• Self-management, self-motivation, and a drive to achieve results

• Collaborative personality with a history of positive working relationships

• Adaptability and openness to change, able to work independently and as part of a team

• Fast learner, able to quickly learn and implement new processes and procedures

• Able to manage multiple platforms, products, and people with the ability to foster relationships that encourage multiple purchases

• Proven ability to excel in a high-volume, repetitive environment

• Maintains composure in difficult situations and high stress environments

• Understanding of business metrics and how to achieve them

 

Physical Requirements

• Specific physical abilities required by this job include: lift and move up to 35 pounds, sit and/or stand for long periods of time, walk, reach with hands and arms, use arms, hands and fingers to lift overhead, handle, feel and maneuver, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and smell.

• Specific vision abilities required by this job include: clear vision close up and at a distance as well as the ability to identify colors accurately and handle flashing lights for hours at a time

 

Compensation:

• $60,000-$65,000
